The anointing of God (YHWH) is one of the most powerful things that can come upon a person.
When a person is anointed by the anointing of God (YHWH), there are a number of powerful changes that occur as the nature of God (YHWH) is smeared over the person.
Firstly, the anointing brings divine empowerment. What once seemed impossible becomes possible—not by human strength, but by the Spirit of God (YHWH). Just as David was anointed and empowered to defeat Goliath, the anointing enables the believer to overcome obstacles, defeat spiritual enemies, and walk in victory.
Secondly, the anointing brings spiritual authority and purpose. When Saul and David were anointed, their calling was confirmed. Anointing is never random; it comes with divine assignment. It aligns a person with Heaven’s purpose for their life.
Thirdly, the anointing brings transformation and consecration. It sets a person apart, not just for service, but for relationship. The anointing isn’t only about power; it’s about intimacy with God (YHWH). It is the tangible sign of being chosen and sanctified.
Finally, fresh oil speaks to the ongoing renewal of that anointing. Yesterday’s oil was for yesterday’s battles. Fresh oil is needed for today’s challenges and tomorrow’s victories. We are invited into a lifestyle of continuous refreshing in the presence of God (YHWH).
