The coming of Christ Jesus brought a transformative change to our relationship with God (YHWH).
Under the Old Covenant, righteousness depended on strict adherence to the law, including practices like circumcision. But through the New Covenant, we are justified by grace through faith, not by works of the law.
Paul emphasizes this in Galatians 5:2-4:
“Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.”
The Old Covenant required outward symbols like circumcision as signs of devotion, but Paul makes it clear that these practices no longer hold value under the New Covenant.
Galatians 5:6 explains: “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.”
Through Christ Jesus, we are freed from the demands of the law and empowered to live by faith through His grace. Let us walk in this freedom, trusting fully in Him.
