These influences can open doors to darkness and lead to curses, confusion, and spiritual harm.

This serves as a stark reminder that media, while often viewed as simply entertainment, can carry with it the potential to influence the spiritual realm. These films and shows can subtly introduce fear, anxiety, or curiosity about the supernatural, drawing individuals away from the truth of God’s (YHWH) power and protection.
The Bible encourages us to be vigilant in guarding our hearts and minds. Proverbs 4:23 warns, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” What we watch, listen to, and allow into our minds shapes our thoughts and actions. If we are not careful, certain media can lead us into spiritual bondage, inviting negative forces into our lives.
It is important for believers to discern the spiritual impact of the media they consume. 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” This includes the thoughts and emotions stirred by media.
