Exodus 3:10 marks a pivotal moment in the Bible when God (YHWH) calls Moses to step into a divine mission:ย โSo now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.โย This moment in history was not only a call to action but a declaration of Godโs (YHWH) readiness to fight on behalf of His people. It was a summons to battle; not in the way the world defines battle, but in the divine, spiritual sense of standing firm for justice, freedom, and Godโs (YHWH) will.
Moses, a man of humble beginnings, initially hesitated at Godโs (YHWH) command. He doubted his abilities, questioning,ย โWho am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?โย Yet, despite Mosesโ doubts, God (YHWH) reaffirmed His power and His presence. He promised Moses,ย โI will be with you.โย And that was all Moses needed to hear. The battle wasn’t about his own strength or abilities; it was about trusting in Godโs (YHWH) calling and His power.
The story of Moses teaches us an important lesson about being โready for battle.โ Itโs not about physical strength or worldly preparation, but about being ready to step into Godโs (YHWH) purpose. In this case, the battle Moses was called to was a spiritual one: liberating the Israelites from slavery and showing the world that God (YHWH) is a God who fights for justice, freedom, and the oppressed.
In our own lives, we too are called to battle. The battle we face isn’t always against visible enemies but against the forces of darkness, injustice, and fear that try to hold us back from living out God’s (YHWH) plan. Just as Moses was called to confront Pharaoh, we are called to stand against the spiritual battles that surround us; whether itโs standing up for whatโs right, choosing faith over fear, or resisting the pressures of this world that seek to pull us away from our purpose.
When God (YHWH) calls us to battle, He doesnโt leave us to fight on our own. Just as He promised Moses His presence, He promises us His Holy Spirit, the ultimate strength and guide in the battle. We are not fighting alone; God (YHWH) equips us, strengthens us, and leads us in every step of the battle.
As Christians, we must be ready for battle in all aspects of our lives; spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Itโs a battle of faith, a battle to live out the truth, a battle to stand firm in the love of God (YHWH) even when the world tries to pull us away. But like Moses, we can rest in the assurance that when God (YHWH) calls us to fight, He is always with us.
