As Christ Jesus was given as the Sacrificial Lamb to carry our the punishment for our sins; a Prophet of God (YHWH) is the incarnation of God (YHWH) that comes as the messager in order to highlight sin in the world. A Prophet of God (YHWH) cannot speak on their own authority but only deliver the message given to them by God (YHWH).
A Prophet of God (YHWH) cannot compromise the truth, misrepresent God’s will, or seek personal gain from their divine calling. Their purpose is to guide, correct, and call people to repentance, remaining faithful to God’s word regardless of opposition or personal cost.
God’s (YHWH) Word does not say a Prophet of God (YHWH) cannot sin; rather, it acknowledges that Prophets of God (YHWH) are human and fallible, yet they are chosen by God (YHWH) to deliver His message. While they are called to a high standard of obedience and faithfulness, their authority comes from God’s (YHWH) Word, not their own perfection.
A Prophet of God (YHWH) is not chosen because of their ability to perfectly keep the commandments; rather, they are appointed by God (YHWH) as His spokesperson, entrusted to deliver His divine message.
While a Prophet of God (YHWH) deserves reverence for their calling and the message they bear, they are not to be idolized or worshipped. Their role is to direct people toward God (YHWH), highlighting His will, righteousness, and mercy, not to draw attention to themselves or their own human imperfections.
Throughout Scripture, Prophets of God (YHWH) like Moses, Elijah, and Jonah demonstrated both moments of great faith and human weakness, yet God (YHWH) still used them to fulfill His divine purposes.
Ultimately, a Prophet of God (YHWH) serves as a vital link between God (YHWH) and humanity, bearing His truth with humility and courage. Their mission is not to glorify themselves, but to reveal God’s (YHWH) will, call for repentance, and offer hope through His mercy, reminding us that even in human weakness, God’s (YHWH) power and purpose prevail.
