At the core, a biblical church must:
1. Be centered on Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11).
2. Proclaim and teach God’s Word (2 Timothy 4:2).
3. Engage in worship, prayer, and fellowship (John 4:24, and Mark 11:17).
4. Fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
5. Administer the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:24).
6. Maintain qualified leadership and proper order (Titus 1:5-6).
7. Promote spiritual growth, love, unity, and holiness (Ephesians 4:12-13, Ephesians 4:3, 1 Peter 1:15, and Matthew 18:15).
Delving further into The Word, Prophet and Prophetic Minister Isaac ‘Glory’ Essessien advises that a church must:
1. Warn against manipulation of the scripture (Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 22:18-19).
2. Commit to sound doctrine (1 Timothy 4:3, 1 Timothy 4:16).
3. Expose false teachings, teachers, and doctrine (2 Peter 2:1, Ephesians 5:11).
4. Inform believers of The Truth, and the believer must discern, lest favour is lost (Hosea 4:6).
Any place that fails to pass one or more of these tests must be avoided by any faithful believer.
