In Biblical Times, Leviathan was known as the Sea Serpent which caused seasoned warriors to turn and run. Leviathan was under God’s (YHWH) Sovereign control, and eventually had it’s head broken into pieces for desert creatures to eat.
In the Bible Leviathan is used symbolically for the wicked kings of the earth who withstood God’s (YHWH) people.
In today’s time, it’s still possible to see how and where Leviathan might be operating, such as in the case of some African “Aladura” organisations and their founders, who want their practices for the whole planet; with beliefs, doctrine, and hymns centred around “Last Boat/Ship of Salvation”; also being suspected as being Christian cults using African indigenous traditional methods, similar to South African “Songomas”. These groups often incorporate the use of sea water and water-based rituals as part of their spiritual rituals and healing practices.

The “Last Boat/Ship of Salvation” is a tactic many rogue religions and cults use in order to deceive people into their control. This Doctrine states that the only way a person can be saved is through that particular place or belief, including the forbidding of many commonly consumed food and drink, which is incompatible with modern day Christianity, and the gift our LORD Christ Jesus left us with as believers in Biblical Times; also often misinterpreting the Bible. Freedom of religion should not be used to justify practices that are harmful or exploitative, as in the case of cults. No single Christian/Christ-Centred organisation has the theological authority to claim that it alone is the exclusive means by which a believer is saved, for salvation belongs to Christ Jesus alone.
For example, in relation to some African “Aladura” organisations; largely rooted in the Yoruba tribe, with a large majority of members found being from the Yoruba tribes in Nigeria and Benin; a major belief is that when someone claims to speak on behalf of a dead relative—whether in private settings or during an ‘Amisa’—it is not prophetic; it is deception. A demon is speaking, not the Holy Spirit. This is not a cultural difference; it is a spiritual danger, as referenced in Deuteronomy 18:10–12, where consulting the dead is described as detestable to the Lord.
Such movements are often further marked by unbiblical practices that depart from clear scriptural instruction while claiming divine authority. For example, Scripture is explicit that when a Nazarite vow was completed, the hair was to be cut and burned on the altar as part of a holy offering to God (Numbers 6:18). Retaining the hair, using it for ritual purposes, or assigning it mystical power directly contradicts biblical teaching and reflects syncretism with indigenous spiritual systems such as African traditional, rather than obedience to the Word of God (YHWH). When rituals, objects, or bodily elements are treated as conduits of spiritual power apart from Christ Jesus, they mirror ancient pagan practices and echo the same rebellious spirit symbolised by Leviathan; resistance to God’s (YHWH) order while operating under a religious appearance.
Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.” The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”

The Old Law had approximately 613 laws that had to be obeyed in full; not just laws that included the dietary requirements of the Jews.
